  • What is life coaching?
Life coaching is like having a personal guide to help you do better in life. It's not about fixing past problems or mental health issues, but about looking at what you want for your future. As a life coach, I'll help you figure out your goals, understand what's stopping you from reaching them, and come up with a plan to get past those hurdles. We might talk about things like your job, your personal growth, your health, or your relationships. The end goal is to help you make positive changes so you can live your best life.
  • What is the difference between life coaching and therapy?
Life coaching and therapy are both beneficial practices, but they serve different purposes and focus on different areas. Therapy, also known as counseling or psychotherapy, often deals with healing past trauma, dealing with mental health issues, and resolving personal or psychological problems. A therapist is trained to diagnose and treat mental health conditions, and the process can involve working through past issues and understanding how they affect your present situation. On the other hand, life coaching is future-focused and goal-oriented. It's not about diagnosing or treating mental health conditions. Instead, as a life coach, I work with you to identify your goals, create a plan to achieve them, and provide support and motivation along the way. We might focus on areas like career progression, personal development, or improving your overall lifestyle. In simple terms, therapy is about healing and understanding, while life coaching is about growing and achieving. Both can be valuable depending on what you need at this point in your life.
  • What can I expect in a coaching session?
Each coaching session is a conversation between us that's all about you and your goals. Here's a general idea of what you can expect: Goal Setting: We'll start by discussing what you want to achieve. This could be a big, long-term goal or a smaller goal for just the next week. Exploration: Once we've identified your goal, we'll explore what's standing in your way. This could be an external obstacle, like lack of time, or an internal one, like self-doubt or fear. Strategizing: After we've identified the obstacles, we'll work together to come up with a plan for how you can overcome them and move closer to your goal. Action Steps: At the end of each session, we'll decide on a few action steps that you can take before our next meeting. These steps will be practical and achievable tasks that will move you closer to your goal. Support and Accountability: Throughout this process, I'll be there to provide support, encouragement, and accountability. It's not my job to tell you what to do, but to guide you in finding the best path for you. Remember, every coaching session is unique because every person is unique. We'll always move at a pace that feels comfortable for you, and focus on the areas that you feel are most important.

Confidence Building: If self-doubt or insecurity is holding you back, I can support you in building self-confidence and improving your self-image. Health and Wellness Goals: If you're looking to improve your health, fitness, or overall wellness, I can help you set realistic goals and develop a sustainable plan. Personal Growth: If you're seeking personal development in areas like communication, leadership, or emotional intelligence, I can assist you in identifying areas for growth and creating a plan for improvement. • How long does a coaching relationship typically last?
The duration of a coaching relationship can vary greatly depending on your individual needs and goals. Some people find they achieve their goals in a few sessions, while others benefit from a longer engagement spanning several months or even a year. Typically, a coaching relationship starts with a series of regular sessions (usually weekly or biweekly) to build momentum. This is often followed by less frequent maintenance sessions or check-ins. However, it's important to remember that the pace and duration are flexible and customizable to your needs. The ultimate goal is to ensure that you achieve the positive change and results you're seeking, regardless of how long that takes.
  • What is your coaching style or philosophy?
My coaching philosophy is rooted in the habit change coaching method. I firmly believe in the transformative power of small, consistent changes. I understand that substantial change can feel overwhelming, especially when the desire for transformation is significant. That's why my approach is to help you make subtle yet meaningful shifts in your lifestyle, creating a journey towards your goals that is manageable and sustainable. I also emphasize the importance of self-trust and resilience in this process. I encourage you to consistently show up for yourself, to trust in your ability to grow, and to stay the course even when challenges arise. Remember, this journey is not just about reaching a destination, but about embracing the process of becoming the best version of yourself, one small step at a time.
  • What qualifications or certifications do you have?
I am a certified Health and Life Coach, having completed a dual certification program from the Health Coach Institute, an esteemed organisation in the coaching industry, based in Boise, Idaho in the U.S. This comprehensive program offered me a profound understanding of both health and life coaching strategies, equipping me with the skills to guide individuals on their personal and professional journeys. Additionally, my certification is recognized by the International Coach Federation (ICF) and carries Continuing Coach Education (CCE) accreditation, ensuring that my coaching methods are aligned with global standards of excellence in this field.
  • How often are sessions and how long do they last?
The sessions are like weekly catch-ups, or as often as you need them. Think of them as a friendly chat that lasts about 45 minutes to an hour. It's during this time that we'll explore your goals, talk about what's on your mind, and figure out the next small steps on your journey. It's all about what works best for you.
  • What are your rates and payment policies?
My rate is $30 per session, with a prepayment for two sessions ($60) required to reserve your spot. Payments can be made through secure and convenient platforms like PayPal, Stripe, or Square. These platforms allow for easy online transactions and provide a record of payments for both you and me. This policy helps us focus on your coaching journey, knowing that the administrative details are well-handled. Please note that you will need to set up an account with one of these platforms and integrate it into your website or invoicing system to accept payments.
  • Do you offer a free consultation or discovery call?
Absolutely, I offer a complimentary 45-minute discovery session. This is our opportunity to get to know each other, see if we connect, and determine if we're a great fit for this coaching journey. It's important to me that you feel comfortable and confident in our partnership, so this session is entirely free of charge.
  • How is coaching conducted (in person, over the phone, video call)?
Coaching sessions will primarily take place via video call, allowing us to connect no matter where you're located. However, if you're based in Toronto, we have the unique opportunity to meet for some sessions in person. We'll choose a safe and comfortable location that suits us both, creating an environment where you can feel at ease as we work together on your journey.
  • What is your confidentiality policy?
Maintaining your trust and confidence is my utmost priority, and that begins with respecting your privacy. We will enter into a confidentiality agreement that guarantees all discussions during our sessions will be held in strict confidence, shared only between you and me. This policy underscores my commitment to creating a safe, respectful, and private space for your personal growth journey.
